BREAKING NEWS: Durable Goods Orders Unexpectedly Rise in October

The Commerce Department reports orders for long-lasting goods rose 0.4% in October, an unexpected increase from the 0.6% fall economists were looking for. Excluding the transportation component, orders fell 0.9%, the biggest decline since December 2013, while economists expected orders to rise 0.5% for the month.
