BREAKING NEWS: Housing Starts Drop, Permits Hit Highest Rate Since 2008

The Commerce Department reports new home construction fell 2.8% in October to an annualized rate of one million units, missing Wall Street estimates for an increase to 1.03 million units. Housing permits, meanwhile rose 4.8% to an annualized rate of 1.08 million units, the highest rate since June 2008, topping expectations for 1.03 million units.
