The Commerce Department reports new home construction fell 1.6% in November to an annualized rate of 1.03 million units, missing Wall Street expectations for an increase to 1.04 million units. Meanwhile, building permits dropped 5.2%, the biggest decline since January, to an annualized rate of 1.04 million units, while Wall Street expected an increase to 1.06 million units.
