The Commerce Department reports retail sales saw a 0.9% decline in December, the biggest drop since January 2014, a steeper drop than the 0.1% fall Wall Street expected. Excluding the volatile autos segment, sales fell 1%, its biggest drop since March 2009, while economists expected sales in this segment to hold steady for the month.
